: about
I am swanasa an electronic music creator. I seek to push the boundaries of drone and ambient genres. My pursuit of progression signifies a contemporary, holistic emphasis: ambient music is no longer merely about presenting environmental sounds and associations linked to it, but it has become a way of life. Living in nature and creating with awareness of ecology play a crucial role in my work. I am deeply connected to nature and allow my activities in field recording and arranging, as well as my synthetic soundscapes, to mutually inspire each other. This approach aligns with ecological trends that suggest that the survival and flourishing of life on Earth lies in the connection between nature and human-made technology. Recently, I have began organizing, interpreting, and utilizing my nature sound recordings within a network of symbols. I believe a symbol can have an impact through sound, and as there are sound symbols, it is possible to bridge the symbolic messages of sounds and images. This allows me to invite listeners to an experience that is both more universal and personal. My fundamental concepts are rooted in folk culture, Jungian analytical psychology's symbols, analogies, archetypes, in short, the human unconsciousness. However, I view the connections and musical applicability of these through a digital-age perspective. I enjoy when real and synthetic sounds are in dialogue with each other, and by making these boundary areas permeable, I can strengthen connections between the metaphysical, spiritual, and technological worlds. My main themes include totemism, rituals, altered states of consciousness, self-knowledge, deep listening, breathing, meditation, life, death, life...
